Entries now open for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade

This year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be March 17 at 1 p.m.

The event is sponsored by the Great Falls Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Downtown Great Falls Association.

The parade will stage in the usual area south of the civic center between the Great Falls Police Department building and the building housing the Montana Human Services Bureau.

The sponsors invite all families, schools, musical groups, businesses and individuals to participate. As in past years, parade sponsors have a special category for anyone born or married on St. Patrick’s Day.

Other activities for the week include the annual fundraising breakfasts sponsored by the Hibernians for the three local parochial schools, Holy Spirit and Our Lady of Lourdes grade schools, and Great Falls Central High School.

The Ancient Order of Hibernians is a fraternal organization of Catholic men who are Irish by birth or descent.

The 2018 St. Patrick’s Day parade Grand Marshal will be announced in the coming weeks.
