Jones named assistant chief at GFFR

Jeremy Jones has been named assistant chief for operations at Great Falls Fire Rescue.

He replaces Ron Scott, who retired in December.

Jones became a battalion chief in February 2016 and previously spent 17 years on the truck floor. Of those, Jones spent 10 years running an engine company as a captain. He’s also a paramedic.

New GFFR lieutenants promotion ceremony, assistant chief announcement planned next week

Jones is the son of Bob Jones, who recently completed a term on the City Commission and formerly served as chief of the Great Falls Police Department.

The promotion will create some movement within the department as someone moves up to fill the battalion chief vacancy. The movement will determine whether GFFR hires three or four rookies this spring, Chief Steve Hester told The Electric recently.
