County zoning board applications due Friday for two vacancies

Cascade County is seeking applicants for the Zoning Board of Adjustment, which will be the body to approve or deny the special use permit application for the Madison Food Park.

Terms for two ZBOA members expire at the end of this month. One of those members, Jim Edwards, has requested to be reappointed, according to the county.

Applications for the board are due by 5 p.m. Dec. 15 and will be considered during the Dec. 26 Cascade County Commission meeting. The only qualification for applicants is county residency.

One other application has been received as of Dec. 12.

The ZBOA has the “exclusive power and authority to independently hear and decide zoning appeals and applications for zoning variances and special exceptions,” under state law.

The five-member board meets on an as-needed basis.

The current members are Bill Austin, Jim Edwards, Tim Wilkinson, Leonard Reed and Rob Skawinski.
