Adoption event for Giving Tuesday at the Great Falls Animal Shelter

The Great Falls Animal Shelter is working to Empty the Shelter on “Giving Tuesday.”

It’s an adoption and fundraising event on Nov. 28 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Potential dog and cat adopters have the opportunity to adopt a dog or a cat for $10, plus a donation of the adopter’s choosing. The deep discount doesn’t apply to licensing or vouchers.

While you look at cute, fluffy animals, you can also pick up tasty treats from the bake sale and sip some free hot cocoa.

All adoptions will still include spay/neuter, microchip, name tag, FIV/FELV combo test (for cats only) and age appropriate vaccinations.

You can find the adoption application here or come by the shelter to pick one up. Applications won’t be accepted before Nov. 28, but you can pre-fill the form and bring it with you.

All available animals will be eligible for the adoption event. Check out available animals here.

Tips for a successful shelter adoption:

  • Bring in your pets proof of rabies with you that day
  •  If you have two cats and/or two dogs already and live within the city limits, come in to get your Multiple Animal Permit (MAP) approved
  • Make sure your pets are up to date on their city license, if you live within the Great Falls city limits
  • If you rent, verify with your landlord that you can have more pets and if so, let them know to expect a phone call from the shelter on the 28th. The shelter cannot complete an adoption without speaking to the landlord.

Animals will not be held for longer than the normal 24-hour hold time.  Animals on their stray hold will not be eligible for this special.
