The portion of 2nd Street Northwest between 17th Avenue Northwest and Smelter Avenue Northwest will be closed to through traffic through Oct. 20.

The closure is to allow United Materials to complete ADA curb ramp installation, a project that is a contract with the city.

Work started Monday and will continue until Oct. 20.

Local access will be provided during construction and the contractor will provide barricades and detour signs in the area.
