Two have been charged with an early morning shooting on Sept. 10 near Gibson Park.

Cole Bush, 22, was charged with felony counts of criminal endangerment by accountability and assault with a weapon by accountability.

Shayda Quiver, 18, was charged with felony counts of criminal endangerment and assault with a weapon, and a misdemeanor count of criminal mischief.

Great Falls police officers responded to 717 8th St. N. around 2:49 a.m. Sept. 10 for a report of a shooting.

There, they spoke with Bridger Stoll, who told officers he was lying in his bed when shots were fired through his window and into the apartment.

He located a projectile in his bedroom and an officer found a .40 S&W cartridge casing outside a window of the apartment, according to charging documents.

Two others were in the living room at the time of the shooting and used their Snapchat location tracking to see that Quiver and Bush were nearby and running to Gibson Park.

A woman in the living room noticed that three tires on her red Ford Focus had been slashed outside the apartment.

Stoll told officers that Quiver and Bush had told him to go to Gibson Park to fight. He went to the park and while he was on the phone with Bush, he told investigators he’d heard the sound of a gun cocking back then three shots being fired, according to court documents.

Fearing he’d be shot, Stoll said he ran back to his apartment on 8th Street North and learned one of the others in the apartment had called 911.

Using Snapchat location data, officers located Quiver and Bush at 505 2nd Ave. S., where they saw Bush throw a Beretta .40 S&W caliber handgun into a nearby bush, according to court documents.

During interviews with officers, Bush initially denied being anywhere near Stoll’s address, but later said that Quiver had said she was going to shoot the apartment windows and that she had slashed the Ford’s tires.

Bush told officers that he told Quiver not to shoot into the apartment window but into the balcony instead. He told officers that Quiver had the gun in Gibson Park since Stoll was on his way to fight. Bush said he told Quiver not to hurt Stoll but just to scare him and she fired three rounds in Stoll’s direction.

The pair then ran to the house where officers located them and Bush said he threw the gun in a bush so he wouldn’t have it on him to avoid an altercation with law enforcement, according to court documents.

Quiver denied all involvement in the incidents and made reference to someone else being involved, but wouldn’t provide any details, according to court documents.

County Attorney Josh Racki said it appears that the people involved have some association and there was a dispute over who someone was sleeping with.

Quiver was listed as a 17-year-old runaway earlier this year.

As of Sept. 15, Bush is being held in the Cascade County Adult Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.

He has a prior misdemeanor conviction for driving under the influence, according to prosecutors.

Quiver is being held in the county jail on a $75,000 bond.

Quiver “actually fired shots into a home and could have killed the occupants. She also fired shots in Gibson Park and could have killed someone there as well,” according to court documents.
