Waterfowl release rescheduled due to weather

The city has rescheduled the annual waterfowl release at Gibson Pond to April 6 at 10:30 a.m. due to the forecasted spring snow.

The Public Library will be hosting story time at 9:30 a.m. before the duck release.

Great Falls Park and Recreation staff takes care of the waterfowl over the winter at the Honker Hilton, their indoor location at the north end of Gibson Park, where they have an indoor pond and are fed daily.

The National Weather Service Great Falls office is forecasting a spring storm system for Thursday and Friday with precipitation and snow.

“Highest precipitation amounts and snowfall accumulation are likely over the mountains of central and southwest MT. Impacts to travel are possible, especially over mountain passes and cold/wet/raw conditions may be difficult for young livestock. Monitor the forecast for additional details as the week progresses,” according to NWS/GF.
