Andrade appears in court for May criminal endangerment case

Charlotte Andrade appeared in court on Oct. 16 for a status hearing.

The hearing was for her May case of a felony count of criminal endangerment and a misdemeanor count of criminal mischief.

There was a warrant for her arrest in that case when she was arrested and charged in June with felony counts of deliberate homicide and attempted deliberate homicide for a shooting at the Phoenix Apartments.

During the Oct. 16 hearing, her defense attorney, Michael Kuntz, said he was asking to continue the case since he had only just met with her that week on the criminal endangerment case and didn’t realize she had a heavier matter she was being held on in the Cascade County Adult Detention Center.

She’s been in the jail since June 9.

Kuntz said they weren’t looking to take the criminal endangerment case to trial and that he was coordinating with her attorney in the homicide case to resolve her cases.

He said she has bail in the criminal endangerment case, but is sitting on a $1 million bond in the homicide case.

Preston Rammel, a deputy county attorney, said his office had no objections to the continuance as she has another pending case in which the “severity is greater than this one.”

Kuntz asked for a 90 day continuance, which Judge Dave Grubich granted.

In the May case, Andrade and two males approached a victim on foot while she was at the gas pump, according to court documents.

Andrade told the victim and her friends to leave and a verbal argument ensued, with the victim and her friends getting into her vehicle to leave, but the victim got back out and continued the argument, according to court documents.

Andrade allegedly pulled out a BB gun and shot at the victim’s vehicle twice, causing damage, then pointed it at the victim’s face from four or five feet away and shot the victim in the face, according to charging documents.

She’s accused of shooting two people at the Phoenix Apartments in June, killing one and injuring the other.
