Great Falls man sentenced in federal court for having prohibited weapon

A Great Falls convicted felon who illegally possessed a firearm was sentenced in federal court Sept. 27 to 16 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release, according to U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme. Montana Lee Covington, 21, pleaded guilty in May 2025 to prohibited person in possession of a firearm. Chief U.S. District Judge Brian M. Morris presided.
