Man charged in Amigo Lounge incident
Neil Samoy has been charged with four felony counts of assault on a peace officer, a felony count of criminal possession of dangerous drugs and misdemeanor counts of obstructing a peace office, resisting arrest and criminal trespass.
The charges stem from an incident around 3 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Amigo Lounge, 1200 7th St. S.
Three Great Falls Police officers responded to a report a male refusing to leave and threatening to punch anyone who tried to make him.
An officer talked to Samoy asking him to identify himself and attempting to issue a trespass notice. Samoy refused to identify himself and when an officer attempted to detain him, Samoy responded by putting his hands up as fists in an aggressive stance, according to court documents.
Officers attempted to take him to the ground, but Samoy continued to resist by putting his hands under his chest, grabbing the officer’s arm and kicking him numerous times.
Samoy continued to resist and officers worked to gain compliance, when Samoy pulled a knife out of his jacket.

Officers used their tasers on Samoy in at attempt to take him into custody, which they were able to do at that point, according to charging documents.
Amigo staff provided video of the incident to the police.
During a search, officer found methamphetamine on Samoy, who was transported to Benefis Health System where he was medically cleared and then taken to the Cascade County Adult Detention Center.

Samoy has a prior conviction for assault on a peace officer from Arizona, prior misdemeanor offenses and was charged with assault with a weapon previously but it was unclear the disposition of that charge, according to court documents.
Prosecutors requested a $75,000 bond and drug patch monitoring should Samoy be released.
