County making repairs to Black Eagle Road

Cascade County is beginning road repairs in Black Eagle on June 25.

The work on Black Eagle Road is expected to take about two weeks, weather permitting.

“During this time, we will need drivers to be aware of work signs, detours, road closures and construction posted speed limits,” according to the Cascade County public works department.

On June 10, Cascade County Commissioners awarded a contract to United Materials for the work.

Les Payne, county public works director, said his department asked multiple contractors for estimates for the repairs.

The soft spots in the road need to have the existing asphalt removed so new material and fabric can be added, then compacted, with new asphalt laid.

The county will pay United a mobilization cost of $5,600 and $85 per square yard.

The total square footage has not yet been determined, Payne said.
