Joann closing all stores nationwide, including Great Falls location

Joann is closing all stores, including the Great Falls location, as part of its bankruptcy.

The company announced Feb. 23 that GA Group was selected as the winning bidder to acquire substantially all of Joann’s assets during a sale process and auction.

The agreement is subject to court approval, with a hearing scheduled for Feb. 26, but GA Group plans to begin winding down Joann’s operations and holding going-out-of business sales at all store locations nationwide.

Earlier this month, the company had announced plans to close about 500 stores, but those plans changed as GA Group acquired more assets.

“JOANN leadership, our board, advisors and legal partners made every possible effort to pursue a more favorable outcome that would keep the company in business. We are committed to working constructively with the winning bidder to ensure an orderly wind-down of operations that minimizes the impact on all our stakeholders. We deeply appreciate our dedicated team members, our customers and communities across the nation for their unwavering support for more than 80 years,” the company said in a Feb. 23 statement.
