Drool in the Pool set for Sept. 7, pool closures
The City of Great Falls Park and Recreation and Great Falls Animal Shelter are hosting Drool in the Pool at Electric City Water Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 7.
The event includes:
- water activities: dogs can dive in and enjoy the cool water while showing off their best doggy paddles.
- land-based fun: paw print painting, sniffing games, and more to keep all four-legged attendees entertained.
- educational booths: mini-education booths offering valuable information on pet care and welfare.
- vendor fair: a variety of vendors offering pet-related products and services, including treats, toys, and more.
The splash pad will not be operational during Drool in Pool.
Admission is $6 per dog and $3 per human. Cash or credit cards are accepted. Credit cards have a 3 percent transaction fee.
Proof of current vaccinations is required for all dogs, including rabies, parvo, and distemper. Vaccination records can be presented in paper or digital form.
Interested vendors should register by Sept. 1 to secure a spot at the event.
City approves water park splash pad contracts
Booth spaces are available for retail vendors, non-profits, rescue organizations, and food vendors. The event also provides an opportunity for businesses to sponsor booths. All participating vendors will receive logo recognition on the event website.

Aug. 24 is the last day of summer operations at the Electric City Water Park, including Mitchell Pool and the Lazy River.
The pools at the new Scheels Aim High Big Sky indoor aquatic center will be closed Aug. 26-27 for a mechanical upgrade.
Neighborhood pools closed Aug. 11.
Neighborhood splash pads will remain open through Aug. 25.
The splash pad at Lions Park will close after Labor Day depending on overnight and daytime temperatures.
