Cascade County Commissioners awarded a $849,562 contract to United Materials during their March 5 meeting for a street reconstruction project.

The county public works department hired Big Sky Civil and Environmental to perform engineering services related to the planning, design and construction supervision of the reconstruction and overlay of several northwest streets.

The streets included in the project are 27th Street Northwest, 31st Street Northwest, 34th Street Northwest and Wilkinson Lane.

The project consists of a 0.2-inch thick plant mix overlay, some paint and striping and other miscellaneous work, according to county public works.

The county received one bid for the project from United Materials for $849,562.
