The Great Falls Public Library is holding a birthday party for Dr. Seuss’s 120th birthday with cupcakes and Dr. Seuss books and stories read every half hour throughout the morning.

Dr. Suess, born Theodor Geisel, was born on March 2, 1904. His books such as “Horton Hears a Who!,” “Green Eggs and Ham,” One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish” and “The Cat in the Hat” remain popular since his death in 1991.

His birthday has become National Read Across America Day by the National Education Association.

Dr. Seuss Enterprises is celebrating the author’s 120th birthday with a free giveaway of “The Cat in the Hat” to U.S. residents who have a baby born this March 2.

The offer is on a first-come, first-served basis, capped at 10,000 copies.
