City seeking applicants for two advisory boards

The city is seeking applicants for the parking advisory commission and the ethics committee.

Applications are available at the city manager’s office, Civic Center, Room 201, by calling 406-455-8450; or may be obtained from the advisory boards section on the city’s website.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. Feb. 29.

Parking Advisory Commission

In 2023, several board members resigned from the Parking Advisory Commission and the city is looking to fill four vacancies.

Two of the appointments will be for partial terms through April 30, 2025 and two are for full three-year terms.

The commission has five members, appointed by the City Commission, and an ex-officio member appointed by the Business Improvement District.

Experience or interest in the Great Falls central business district is helpful but not necessary.

The PAC advises the City Commission, city manager and planning department on matters related to parking issues within the downtown parking district.

Applicants must reside within the city limits and members serve without compensation.

Ethics Committee

The city is seeking applicants for one seat on the ethics committee.

The appointee will serve a three-year term through Dec. 31, 2026.

Applicants must reside within the city limits, must be qualified electors and may not be city employees.

Applicants should have expertise/qualifications in the following areas: public administration, governmental operation, political practices or legal practice if possible.

The Ethics Committee was established to ensure that all city officers and employees are performing their duties in compliance with the provisions of state law and city code.

The committee consists of three members and one alternate and meets on an as needed basis to hear ethics complaints and presented testimony to determine if complaint appears to be substantiated.
