GFPS budget vote set for Aug. 22

County approves contract for CCSO electronic detection dog

The county’s newest law enforcement member hasn’t yet arrived, but during their Aug. 13 meeting, County Commissioners approved an agreement with Neighborhood Electronic Detection K-9 Inc. for their assistance in acquiring a dog for the Cascade County Sheriff’s Office. County gets software to help recover stolen property

Cascade County Commissioners approved an agreement with LeadsOnline to operate and maintain electronic reporting and criminal investigation systems, primarily to assist in the recovery of stolen property that moves through pawn shops across multiple jurisdictions. The agreement was approved during the Aug. 13 meeting and includes an initial $2,823.63 cost with an annual $3,227 fee. The agreement runs through 2023.

Clear the Shelters event nets 27 pet adoptions in Great Falls

County sues state over unpaid fees for housing inmates at detention center

Cascade County has filed a lawsuit against the Montana Department of Corrections over unpaid fees for housing offenders at the Cascade County Detention Center. The suit was filed last week in district court in Helena and alleges that the state owes Cascade County more than $766,599 for room and board of people serving a DOC sentence at the Cascade County
