Omaha Trophy returns to Malmstrom Air Force Base

The 341st Missile Wing at Malmstrom Air Force Base has been named the Omaha Trophy winner again.

Adm. Rich Correll, U.S. Strategic Command commander, announced the winners recently.

The 2025 Omaha Trophy recipients are:

“Our strategic deterrent is credible because of professionals who execute the mission, every minute of every day,” Correll said in a release. “This award recognizes those units who have demonstrated superior performance and the highest levels of readiness. They are the foundation of our nation’s security, and this honor is a direct reflection of their commitment to that fundamental responsibility.”

341st Missile Wing wins Omaha Trophy again [2024]

The Omaha Trophy is the highest honor bestowed upon a nuclear enterprise unit by a civilian organization.

The award was created in 1971 by the Strategic Air Command Consultation Committee and awarded to the command’s best wing. The SCC, an advisory group of Omaha business leaders, later became the Strategic Command Consultation Committee after the current USSTRATCOM’s activation in 1992.

Omaha Trophy awarded to Malmstrom’s 40th Helicopter Squadron [2023]

In 2020, the committee made a change the Omaha Trophy was awarded to military units with intercontinental ballistic missiles, ballistic missile submarines, strategic bombers, and strategic space and information operations.

The 341st Missile Wing won the award for 2007, 2008, 2009, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2023.

Omaha Trophy returns to Malmstrom [2022]

The 12th Missile Squadron at Malmstrom won in 2021 for intercontinental ballistic missile units.

The 40th Helicopter Squadron won in 2022.
