The Montana Department of Transportation is seeking public comment on a proposal to resurface about two miles of U.S. Highway 89, or 10th Avenue South, near Malmstrom Air Force Base.
The project begins at the intersection with 26th Street South and extends east, ending just past the intersection with the U.S. Highway 87 Bypass.
Proposed work includes replacing curb ramps, milling the existing surface, applying a new overlay, and finishing with a seal and cover (chip seal), upgraded pavement markings and signage, according to MDT.
The project’s purpose is to address pavement deterioration and extend the service life of the roadway.
Construction is tentatively planned for 2027, depending on completion of design and availability of funds. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed, according to MDT.
Comments may be submitted online or in writing to Montana Department of Transportation, Great Falls office, P.O. Box 1359, Great Falls, MT 59403-1359. Note that comments are for project UPN 10690.
