Unofficial results are in for the May 5 school and special district elections.
The results aren’t final until the county conducts the canvass, which is usually done within two weeks.
Belt, Centerville and Ulm school districts had trustee elections. Ulm School requested a $95,753 annual operational levy.
Fort Shaw Irrigation District had two board seats on the ballot. Their canvass is scheduled for 1 p.m. May 7 in the county commission office.

In Ulm, the unofficial tally on the levy is just two votes apart with 138 voting no and 136 voting yes.
Terry Thompson, Cascade County elections administrator, told The Electric that their were four rejected ballots in Ulm and her staff was working to get those voters into the office by 5 p.m. May 6 to resolve those issues.
If those issues are resolved, it could swing the vote, be farther apart, or tie, Thompson said.

Election staff can’t count those four ballots until Monday as provisional ballots, at which point, she’ll determine whether the result is within the margin for an automatic recount under state statute,
Thompson said her staff hand counted ballots on May 5 and counted the Ulm ballots three times since the levy vote was so close.
