The Great Falls Park and Recreation director position remains vacant.
City Manager Greg Doyon said that initially selected four candidates for interviews, but two dropped out.
Earlier this month, he interviewed the remaining two and made an offer to one, who then withdrew from consideration for personal reasons, Doyon said during the Nov. 18 City Commission meeting.

Now he plans to re-advertise the position in the new year, which he said would be a better time frame for recruitment.
The position has been vacant since the end of April.
Doyon said that Bryan Lockerby, who he brought on to serve as interim deputy manager until that position was filled, is staying on for now helping at Park and Rec.
“I think that’s a good arrangement,” he said.

During an August commission meeting, Doyon said that the city had received about 60 applications and three of those made it to interviews, but he decided to re-advertise for the position.
He said the position has a specific need and skillset and the city needs someone in the position who has good business sense for upcoming budgeting due to legislative changes and funding constraints.
