It’s spooky season and there’s lots of fun to be had around Great Falls.
From crafts to hikes to trick or treating to costume parties, October is packed with Halloween festivities.
The Electric and Destination Downtown Great Falls teamed up to bring you a guide to some of the fun happening around town, but this is by no means an exhaustive list.

‘lil Monster Makers
Starting Oct. 1, Honey Hippo Play Café is hosting ‘lil Monster Makers crafts every Tuesday in October. There’s room for 15 kids per week, so families are encouraged to book their slot ahead of time.
Hunter’s moon hike
First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park is hosting the Hunter’s moon and sunset hike at Oct. 17 beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The three-mile moderately difficult hike is guided by park staff and will last about two hours. Hikers will enjoy the sunset that evening, followed by the rise of the Hunter’s Moon as they learn about the history of the park.
There is a $4 fee to join the hike, which is limited to 25 participants. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the park at 406-866-2217. Non-resident vehicles entering the park pay the normal fee of $8 per vehicle.
Night of the Living Ales
Night of the Living Ales is Oct. 19 at the Heritage Inn with a wide variety of beers, music and a costume party.
Tickets are $40 and $30 for those with valid military identification.
Honey Hippo Halloween party
Honey Hippo Play Café is hosting a Halloween party 5:30-7:30 p.m. Oct. 25 with spooky Halloween goodies, games that’ll make you scream, fun photo ops and open play galore.
It’s limited to 15 kids, so book early. Tickets at $20 for kids six and under and parents can join for free. Kids under 12 months get in free with an older sibling’s ticket.
Sparkettes Trail of Terror
The Sparkettes of Montana are hosting their annual Halloween event every Friday and Saturday in October through Halloween.
Entry for adults is $20 and $15 for students.
Turn on 47th Street from 10th Avenue South toward 13th Avenue South and follow the signs. Park on the street and walk in.
The event helps pay for the Sparkettes’ practice building, utilities, insurance and competition travel expenses. They’ve been doing a haunted event for 20 years, according to their board.
Elevation 3330 Halloween party
MikeB Entertainment is playing Oct. 25 at Elevation and then on Oct. 26, Max Hay is playing and they’re also hosting a Halloween/costume party.
Great Falls Symphony
The Great Falls Symphony is hosting their annual Halloween family matinee at 11 a.m. Oct. 26 in the Mansfield Theater at the Civic Center.
Guaranteed to be fun for the entire family, we encourage you to dress in costume. You’ll hear the spookiest music ever, plus there’s candy for the kiddos afterward!
Tickets are free and can be printed from the symphony website.
Hocus Pocus brunch/Halloween party at The Wild Hare
The Wild Hare is hosting Hocus Pocus movie brunch on Oct. 26.
Enjoy the full length movie while enjoying a specialty brunch menu delicious food and themed cocktails (or mocktails).
Doors open at 10 a.m. and the movie starts at 10:30 a.m. Reservations are recommended.
That night, starting at 9 p.m., The Wild Hare is holding their annual Halloween party.
Wheels of Thunder
The Wheels of Thunder Family Roller skating Halloween party is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 26.
Lick or Treat
The 2nd Annual Lick or Treat by Five Beans Pet Care and Big Sky Animal Medical Center from 4-6 p.m. Oct. 26.
Fright Fest
Fright Fest is 6-9 p.m. Oct. 26 at Montana Expo Park in Exhibition Hall for people in recovery from substance abuse disorders.
There will be fun games with free candy and a costume contest for boys, girls, adults, couples and families.

Ghouls and Goblins Craft Show
The Farmer’s Market is hosting Ghouls and Goblins Craft Show on Oct. 26.
Halloween at the Great Falls Public Library
The Great Falls Public Library is hosting a Halloween party and costume contest on Oct. 26.
Scream at Centene
Oct. 25-26 and Oct. 30-31 from 7-11 p.m. The event is hosted by the Bison Booster Club at Centene Stadium and is $6 per person with $1 off with a canned food donation.
Trunk or Treat
Kiwanis Club of Great Falls is hosting a Trunk or Treat at Lions Park from 1-4 p.m. Oct. 27. They’ll have a haunted house, music, smores, hot cocoa and candy. Vote for your favorite trunks and the winners get a prize during the family friendly event.
Halloween Spooktacular
The Lewis and Clark Foundation at the Interpretive Center is hosting their annual Halloween Spooktacular from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 27. The free community event is a fun afternoon of costumes, crafts and candy. This year they’re showing Hocus Pocus in the theater.
Pumpkin Carving Workshop
The Station District is hosting the first of their events with a pumpkin carving workshop 5-7 p.m. Oct. 29.
All supplies will be included, plus small bites, adult refreshments and prizes.

Hocus Pocus workshops
All The Things Charcuterie is hosting Hocus Pocus workshops to create holiday themed boards.
The workshops are 5:30 p.m. Oct. 29 or 6:30 p.m. Oct. 30 and are $75.

Safe Trick-or-Treat Downtown
Downtown Great Falls is hosting their annual Safe Trick-or-Treat from 3-5 p.m. Oct. 31. Look for the flyer in participating business windows along Central Avenue, 1st Avenue North and 1st Avenue South. The Great Falls Public Library at 301 2nd Ave. N. and the new Great Falls Chamber office at 9 3rd St. N. are also participating.
Halloween Inflatable Race
Don your inflatable costumes for a fun Halloween race brought to you by The Electric with KellerGeist and Annie’s Tap House.
The race is at 5:30 p.m. starting by KellerGeist.
Bring your own costume, but we’ll have a few on hand available for use.
Participation is $5 and cash is recommended. Proceeds will support the annual downtown mural festival.
Trick or Treat at Scheels
Scheels is hosting Trick or Treat at their store from 4:30-6 p.m. Oct. 31.
Day of the Dead
Magpie is hosting a Dia De Los Muertos party on Nov. 1 with a costume contest, drink specials, music and dancing for those 21 and older.
KellerGeist is also throwing a Day of the Dead party on Nov. 1.
