Cascade County Commissioners are scheduled to conduct interviews for the election administrator position on Feb. 6.
Commissioners will open their meeting at 8:45 a.m. and then blocked out 90 minutes per interview, though they may take less time, according to their agenda. Interviews are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
Commissioners will conduct interview in the tax appeal room and the public will not be permitted in the room, but the interviews will be broadcast via Zoom, according to the agenda.
County approves new elections fee schedule
The four candidates for the election administrator position are: Lynn DeRoche, Nancy Donovan, Rina Fontana Moore and Terry Thompson.
Moore was the previous county clerk and recorder but lost to Sandra Merchant in November by 31 votes. Merchant assumed election duties in January 2023.
After a number of election issues, lawsuits and public complaints, Commissioners voted 2-1 in December to remove election duties from the clerk and recorders office.

DeRoche was the elections supervisor under Moore for more than a decade.
Donovan has been an active supporter of Merchant and in 2022 signed a petition asking commissioners to eliminate mail ballots and make other election changes. She volunteered in the elections office last year.

Thompson is the former director of the Great Falls Realtors Association and currently sits on the Great Falls Airport Authority board.
