Storm drain improvement project underway on south side of Great Falls

Construction started earlier this month on the south Great Falls storm drain improvement project.

The project contract was awarded in March to United Materials for $774, 805 and will provide an outlet for storm water that collects in an existing depression on private property along the east side of 4th Street South, and to collect surface drainage within the Grandview Tracts neighborhood, according to the city staff report.

Construction began July 8, according to the city, with three crews working along 24th Avenue South, north and south of Upper River Road.

United Materials’ phasing for the project is:

The project is slated to be completed on Sept. 13, depending on weather and the availability of pipe crews.

United Materials is working five shifts per week, according to the city.
