The Great Falls Public Schools board accepted a donation during its Aug. 17 meeting from Benefis Health System of four hospital beds.
School board policy requires the board to accept gifts deemed appropriate, and donors are required to obtain independent appraisal values of their gift for IRS purposes.
The four hospital beds will be used in GFPS health sciences education classes.
Superintendent Heather Hoyer told the board that she serves on a board with Rayn Ginnaty, Benefis’ president of hospital operations.

Hoyer said that she’d heard from Lance Boyd, assistant superintendent, that their old hospital beds used for training CNA students and those going into health sciences were old and clunky, and they were looking for something more modern.
Hoyer said she’d emailed Ginnaty about the district’s need and within a few days, Ginnaty responded that she had four available for GFPS.
