Clear the Shelters event nets 27 pet adoptions in Great Falls
The City of Great Falls Animal Shelter participated in the national Clear the Shelters event Aug. 16-17 and adopted out a total of 27 animals.
“Thank you to the families who adopted-you are amazing,” shelter staff wrote in a Facebook post. “Thanks to all the hard work of the staff and volunteers for making these adoptions happen.”
The annual event promotes adoptions and “clears the shelters” by finding forever homes for pets and is part of a nationwide initiative.
During the event, the shelter offered all dogs and cats for a $10 adoption fee plus a donation of the adopter’s choice.
“The aim of this event is to clear shelters by adopting as many shelter pets as possible. We are excited to be part of a national movement that has helped place more than 256,000 homeless animals with fur-ever families,” Lynn Formell, city shelter manager, said in a release.
