City seeking applicants for advisory boards

Serving on city boards or commissions is a way to become involved in local government. The following boards and commissions have current openings.

Citizen Interest Forms are available at the City Manager’s office, Civic Center, Room 201, by calling 455-8450; or may be downloaded from the Citizen Interest Form Page.

CITY COUNTY HEALTH BOARD

The City Commission is seeking applications for citizens to serve on the City County Health Board. This will be for the remainder of a three-year term through Dec. 31, 2021.

The 7-member board oversees the operation and management of the City-County Health Department. The board meets on the first Wednesday of the month at noon, 11 months out of the year. For more information about the board, contact CCHD at 791-9260. Application deadline is 5 p.m. March 25.

GOLF ADVISORY BOARD

The City Commission is seeking applications for the Golf Advisory Board for the remainder of a three-year term through March 31, 2020.

The 5-member board is appointed by the City Commission to represent: City Men’s Golf Association (1), City Women’s Golf Association (1), Malmstrom Golf Association (1), and non-league golfers (2). There is one current opening for a member to represent men’s Golf Association golfers.

The board advises the City Commission, City Manager, and Park and Recreation staff regarding operation of the municipal golf courses. The board meets on the fourth Monday of each month at 3:30 p.m. Contact Steve Herrig at 761-1265 for more information. Application deadline has been extended to 5 p.m. March 20.

ADVISORY COMMISSION ON INTERNATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

The City Commission is seeking applications for citizens to serve on the Advisory Commission on International Relationships. There is one current opening for the remainder of a term through March 31.

The commission consists of nine to eleven members. The commission provides support, coordination and exchange of information for international programs in the community. For more information contact Krista Artis at 455-8450. Applications will be accepted until position is filled.
