Fire Station Flu Shot Friday starts this week

The Cascade City–County Health Department is collaborating with Great Falls Fire Rescue in providing four flu-shot clinics.

The first-ever Fire Station Flu Shot Friday 2-5 p.m. Oct. 5, at Fire Station 1, located at 105 9th St. S.

Anyone six months and older is welcome to meet city firefighters, see a firetruck, take some photos, and get vaccinated by CCHD’s immunization experts.

CCHD will also be offering the Flublok Quadrivalent vaccine for adults 50 years of age and older. Flublok is a high dose vaccine that is 100 percent egg-free, highly purified, preservative-free and contains three times more antigens than the traditional flu vaccine.

CCHD will be accepting all forms of payment, including insurance. The cost of the flu shot is $30, but no child will be denied services for an inability to pay. There is an increased cost for the Flublok Quadrivalent. Most insurances cover the complete cost of the flu shot, so bring insurance cards.

Anyone who can’t make the first clinic is encouraged to come to a different Fire Station Flu Shot Friday. Details for all clinics are below:

  • Oct. 5: 2-5 p.m. at Fire Station 1, 105 9th Street South
  • Oct. 12: 2-5 p.m. at Fire Station 2, 731 6th Street Northwest
  • Oct. 19: 2-5 p.m. at Fire Station 3, 3325 Central Avenue
  • Oct. 26: 2-5 p.m. at Fire Station 4, 1800 Fox Farm Road

CCHD is encouraging the whole community to get their flu shots at one of these family-friendly events. For more information, visit CCHD’s website or Facebook page or call 406-454-6950.
